Impressive performance and a great game to watch
By Alan Erskine
The result may not be the one we wanted but the performance was!
The 'Bridge under 16's left their best performance ever to their last ever youth fixture.
Dominant in attack and in defence they held possession and territory for most of the game.
Credit to Crawley however who played with tenacity and determination and who ultimately came out on top of what was a hugely entertaining match full of aggression and fight (at one point too much fight!)
Outstanding performances all over the pitch with try saving tackles and powerful hand-offs on show everywhere.
It has been a pleasure to coach this team for the last years in the youth section and they certainly showed us what they can do in this game.
Unfortunately we had to choose just one man of the match and it was a hard choice with so many great performances to choose from.
Ultimately, Jacob Wright showed the consistency with which he has played all season with dominant tackles everywhere and great ball carrying and scrummaging.
We are looking forward to our celebration event on the 11th May where we will mark our time in the youth section with parents and helpers in what we hope will be a suitably appropriate manner. Followed by cheering on the Seniors (and some of us even more senior players!) in a game against a touring side from Holland. It should be an excellent day of Rugby!
Next season marks the start of Colts rugby with a view to graduating to adult rugby as soon as the players are old enough and are ready to cope with a new level of rugby.
It promises to be an exciting time with a whole new Academy set up and joint training sessions with the current under 15's
The future is bright - The future is Black and Yellow!
Well done boys - Now just the small matter of your GCSE's!
