Fantastic First tour for the 'Bridge under 7's
By Alan Erskine
Too many tries to keep count
Lawrence Hooley played his usual game of collecting the ball anywhere and would not stop running using any space he could find to score many tries over the weekend. Aaron Swartz is our teams enforcer who relentlessly chases down the opposing team taking tag after tag, not much gets past him! Benji McConnell came to light on this tour and showed he has some excellent footwork that puts most defenders in a spin, before he sneaks the ball down for a try. Archie Lane would be hands out ready, calling for the pass so he could get to the side line and fly down the wing to score a try, this again happened many times for him over the weekend. The team as a whole played some fantastic rugby together with the opponents coaches commenting how well they handled and passed the ball. and we were by far the loudest when it came to giving the opposition three Cheers!
Off the field they had a great time together, as did the parents. we’re still awaiting a photo finish of the parents race down the water slide. All the boys while waiting for the presentation to start were thinking of what they could call the team next year, this was great to hear as it showed they wanted to do it all again!
I’d like to thank the players and parents as without your continued support and dedication we wouldn’t have experienced the great weekend we all had.
