First weekend back for training report
by Harry Niblock (Edenbridge Under 11's)
The first day back for training was a lovely sunny day at The Rec. It was lovely to see my team mates again after the summer break. We were introduced to a new player called Thomas. He seemed very friendly and got stuck in with the rest of us and I am sure he will be a great team member in our squad, Welcome Thomas.
After warming up the coaches explained all the new rules to us for this season. Now we are allowed to contest a scrum and 2 players can contest a ruck. We are also allowed to kick and we now start the game with a kick off to the opposition. Also the pitch is bigger this season.
The warm weather made it very hard work and all of us wearing scrum caps got very hot. We practised new drills set by the coaches and got split into teams for these drills.
After the drills we played a match using the new rules and what we had leant from the day. We all enjoyed the game and there were some good try's scored and some great tackling and forward play.
The players of the day were announced at the end of the session as Jack and Ed. Both played very well. Well done guys.
Looking forward to next week.
