Old Cat's away training and home training 2nd Dec reports

The Under 11s have had training sessions the last two Sunday mornings.
On Sunday 25 November we went for our first ever away fixture to Old Cats in Caterham. It was very rainy for the whole session. We did training drills with them for the first hour and we did several games we have not done before which were good fun. We then were split into two mixed teams and we played a match. The teams were well balanced and there were lots of tries for both sides. Players of the day for us were Joshua and Devon.
On Sunday 2 December we were at home for training. We did our normal drills for the first part of the session which included a lot of tackling and then split into forwards and backs to do different types of drills. The backs practiced kicking! We then played a practice match between ourselves. For the final part of the session we played a game against the Under 10s using their rules. We did beat them but we could have played a lot better. The coaches said afterwards too many of us thought it would be easy against the Under 10s and most of us played like individuals rather than as a team. Player of the day was Lewis for some good tackles.
Next Sunday we are away to Dartford Valley for a joint training session.
