• Clause 5.41 states “There is no loss of sports pitches proposed with the application........” This is untrue. There existed a football pitch adjacent and parallel to Station Road and this pitch has been used by community youth officers holding football coaching during school holidays since the school closure. This pitch has not been replaced under the application and this omission represents a pitch loss.
• The area to the south of the school buildings embracing the former enclosed and floodlit tennis and netball courts is all recreational area and should revert to playing fields.
• The Statement fails to recognise that when the school was originally built, the plans show it surrounded by playing pitches of different sizes. The area between the school and its eastern boundary was all grassed surface and used for pitches - hockey and football. Currently it is a contractor’s temporary site and covered in hardcore rather than grass. Kent CC should define its plans for this area.
