Chi too strong for 'bridge
By Alan Erskine
The boys stuck at it well but were ultimately beaten by a well drilled team
Not the result we wanted but nor was it by any means a poor performance.
A well drilled Chichester side who obviously have benefited from their big club set up showed some quick moves and sharp lines.
Whilst we matched them in the pack despite not having our first choice locks they were ultimately sharper in their execution.
We were stronger than them in the Rucks, something their coach complimented us on and our defence was strong on our try line. We just need to use that strength further up the pitch.
When we got the ball wide we used it well, both tries coming from a spread ball using pace.
Callum E as captain led the pack well but a missed tackle in the middle of the park will haunt him for a while (if only because I'll remind him!)
Tries from Reece and Leon show what can happen when they back themselves and hopefully we can build on this to give them confidence to make those runs in the future.
Special mentions for Adam, who put in a heck of a shift, Jack for an awesome tackle after running the entire width of the pitch, Bobby the tackle machine and Man of the match, Alex C for some great tackles (I didn't think it was a spear tackle!), Rhys for a great improvement in his game, Tom H for trying to play despite being injured, Jacob for coming back after a poor show last week with a vengeance, Ciaran for playing in loads of positions. .....
In fact there were performances all over the pitch today and the gratfiying thing is that we never gave up despite the score line.
The rugby was great and the heart even better. Well done boys let's build on this for next week!
